NAIRI Insurance and Yandex Go jointly present an exclusive product. For the first time in Armenia, all those who are in the car during the trip are insured against accidents. The insurance is free and automatically activated when the trip starts. It applies to both the driver and the passengers. The maximum compensation amount for each insured person, that is, the passengers in the car during the trip and the driver, is 3.3 million drams, with a maximum of 33 million drams for one accident.
Moreover, one of the points of exclusivity of the product is that even if the accident happens due to the driver’s fault, the guilty driver will also get compensation.
"Today, especially in Yerevan, the traffic situation is quite difficult, there are many accidents. We are glad to start cooperation with Yandex Go because it helps to manage, if not reduce, at least possible risks while travelling by taxi. If a driver or passenger is physically injured, additional costs are incurred for investigations and treatment. Insurance solves this problem. This is also the company's social responsibility to take care of people's health and safety during passenger transportation," notes Mane Martirosyan, the Executive Director of Nairi Insurance Company.
The insurance activates when the driver presses the "I'm on the road" button and stops when the trip is over.
"The safety of passengers and drivers is our priority. And although the legislation does not require online services to insure trips, we’ve decided to launch it, becoming the first taxi ordering service in Armenia that insures the life and health of passengers and drivers," mentions Bagrat Yeghiazaryan, regional manager of Yandex Go.
To use the insurance, you need to write to the Yandex Go support service. They will help you to contact the insurance company and will also present what documents are needed.
