If you've just purchased a car, congratulations! The first thing you need to do is sign a CMTPL (Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability) insurance contract. Since January 11, 2011, having a CMTPL contract is mandatory for all vehicles in Armenia. Driving without it can result in administrative penalties, including a fine of 5,000 drams for every 10 days without insurance, up to a maximum of 50,000 drams per year. However, if the violation is corrected within 24 hours and proof of the signed contract is submitted, the fine can be reduced by 75%.
What do you need to sign a CMPTL contract?
First, you choose the insurance company. Since the CMTPL prices are liberalized, each company determines the factors that influence the formation of the CMPTL premium. So don't be surprised if the cost of CMTPL for your vehicle differs between companies. We suggest not rushing to choose the cheapest option. Instead, choose a reliable company that you’ll feel safe with.
After choosing the company, you can call or visit the office. In the case of Nairi Insurance, you can sign the contract online using our mobile app or website, by visiting the office, by phone, by contacting us on social media, by reaching out to Nairi’s agents.
You should have the vehicle owner's passport and social card or ID card, as well as the vehicle's technical passport, on hand.
Keep the company's phone number at hand; in case of an incident, calling the company should be one of your top priorities.
We wish you a safe and pleasant journey.
