A few years ago, when the Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance (CMPTL) system was first introduced, there were widespread complaints about it being an unnecessary expense. People felt it was something forced upon them, wasting money and even 'robbing' them. But now, it’s hard to imagine life without it. In the past, even minor car accidents felt like a complicated drama—people would argue about who was at fault, involve friends, family, and acquaintances, and spend time sorting out relationships. Today, we simply pick up the phone and call the insurance company or agent. Life has changed. This shift in how we approach insurance is reflected in how we sign contracts. Years ago, you had to visit an office to sign an insurance contract, but now, “long live the internet!”—online insurance makes the process easier than ever.
Today, signing a CMPTL contract is as easy as using your phone. Simply download the mobile app of your preferred insurance company (or use a website on your computer), navigate to the CMPTL section, and fill in the required details. The online calculator will display the payment amount. If you agree and are ready to pay, you can complete the transaction using your linked bank card. Unlike before, when you’d keep the contract in your car’s glove compartment and often lose it, now it’s safely stored on your phone.
Additionally, the ASWA system, along with billing systems, allows you to check the insurance/CMPTL price list and compare the pricing offered by different insurance companies for your car’s CMPTL coverage.
Of course, you can always choose the low-cost option, but remember, the cheapest is not always the best choice.
We wish you a safe and smooth journey.
